We operate our own fleet of vehicles, ranging from 1-34mt, some with tail lifts. Our vehicles and drivers comply with all specific legislation relating to the transport of various categories of hazardous or dangerous goods.
All vehicles are equipped with cellular phones and satellite tracking devices which are constantly monitored using the latest tracking software.
Attention is paid to regular replacement & maintenance of all our vehicles, to ensure that no delays are encountered with regards to deliveries. All vehicles have the necessary fire permits for flammable products and department of health certification to carry food related products.
Stobel makes use of cross-docking which streamlines the supply chain thereby reducing handling, warehousing and storage costs.
Volumetric calculations
Consignments are charged by actual (gross) weight or volume whichever is the greater. Volumetric weight is calculated as follows:
Delivery lead times
Local delivery instructions received before 3pm each day will generally be delivered the following working day and are guaranteed for delivery within 48 hours. National delivery lead times will depend on area of service. This information is available on request.
Fuel levy
All transport rates are subject to changes in the fuel price, which are subject to change on the first Wednesday of each month (as released by the Department of Minerals and Energy).
Hazardous Chemicals
Many companies dabble in the transportation of chemicals and other hazardous goods, but not many can call themselves specialists.
All our vehicles are equipped with all the necessary safety equipment, driver training & emergency procedures to cope with most incidents. We are also contracted to specialist chemical spill response company's in the event of any untimely incident.
